Bible Reading: Romans 6: 15-23
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:16
Once you have given your life to Jesus, you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God. You now possess the fruit that will empower you to receive sanctification. What is sin? Sin is lawlessness. It is disobedience to the word of God. When we disobey our parents or those in authority in things they consider best for us and not against God’s commandment we have sinned. for example, if the government says you should not go to church on Sunday because of coronavirus, if you disobey, it becomes sin. If your father says do not dress in a particular way, maybe he considers it worldly but because of your peer group, you disobeyed. It is also considered as sin. The wages of sin is death. The evidence of salvation is obedience. If you rebel, it’s an indication that the seed of the devil is in you. That means you are a slave to the devil.
