The Effect of Fervent Prayer

Bible Reading: Acts 12:1-25

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Acts 12:5

Prayer changes things. Prayer makes the impossible possible. Prayer moves mountains and prayer raises the dead. The only way to reach out to God is through prayer. When a righteous man prays, heaven is at alert. God said only through asking shall we receive. In the scripture above, when King Herod took hold of James, the church refused to pray for his release, and he was killed. God refused to do anything about it because the church refused to speak to God about it. But when Peter was arrested and kept in prison, the church went into serious business with God through unceasing prayers. Heaven was forced opened and God visited the prison and released Peter mysteriously. The chains on him were loosed, the prison gates were opened, and Peter walked into freedom. When you pray earnestly and persistently, heaven is moved to release a miracle. Pray earnestly and persistently until something happens to your life.

Prayer Point: O Lord, baptize me with the spirit of fervent prayers in Jesus name.
