Obey Those in Authority

Bible Reading: Romans 13:1-14

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Romans 13:1

When God says we should submit to those who are in authority he does not really mean only the government but also the authority in our workplaces, churches, and families. If we obey those in authority,  we are also obeying God’s authority,  because those authorities are instituted by God to help and support us to live a better life. If we disobey our parents or pastors, we could be punished or disciplined. In this time of coronavirus, the government is bringing a lot of regulations towards the spread of the virus, and we are expected to comply with those regulations and instructions so that we can jointly fight against the spread of coronavirus. Paul says we should obey our parents so that our days may be long and that we will be blessed. In the same manner, if we would obey those in authority we will also receive blessings from the Lord. The church authority is instituted by God that is why every Christian who truly wants to be blessed by the Lord must comply with instructions given to her members.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me sufficient grace to be obedient to those in authority
