Bible Reading: Romans 15: 1-33

It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things. Romans 15:27

Gentile believers, realizing their indebtedness to the Jerusalem church for evangelizing their region, collected an offering for the church in Jerusalem. Here we see branch churches sending offering to the headquarters. But today the reverse is the case. You see, the gospel began in Jerusalem. Macedonia and Achaia were obligated to Jerusalem. It is the missionary church helping the home church. Paul makes it clear that it was a freewill offering.

When we look closely at these verses you will discover that we are debtors to men of God that ministers in the church whether by singing, preaching, or other work in the church. They render service to God for our benefit and we owe them our love, prayers, and giving. It is the duty of every believer to

give physical things to those who minister spiritual things in the house of God. This is the only means you can tap from the grace working through the men of God.

Prayer Point: From henceforth I will be a giver in Jesus name
